Happy Friday!
Another week nearly gone, it's going quite quickly I think.
Today brings the next 3 week review and hopefully a bit more clarity on how the next few weeks are going to look (optimistically hoping to have a reopening date which will be brilliant!)
That's looking forward
Now to look back
As you probably heard during January we had the ladies doing our January Jeans Challenge.
So the results are in!
The biggest aim of this challenge wasn't the weight loss.
It was actually just to get the ladies involved and give them something achievable to focus on over January.
We could have made it stricter and has bigger results but the focus was to make it ACHIEVABLE especially at an already stressful time with everything going on
Here's a quick list of some of the ladies to take part and their results:
Sian 14 lbs!
Dawn 11 lbs
Diane 9 lbs
Sue 7 lbs
Becky 7 lbs
Rhea 7 lbs
Amazing!
Between them the ladies lost 115 lbs! (over 8 stone)
Average loss for those taking part was 6.75 pounds
We are delighted with this
Also a load of new recipes learned and all members now have access to the plan so they can do again if they like.
We are actually approaching the end of the Feb plan too so updates to follow next week.
Building on from the dieting mid week post, we know that our ladies are busy and stressed a lot of the time so we don't want to add another stress to their life (diets or extreme exercise).
We do a lot of the work for them and set them up for success.
Have a great weekend,
Jamie Stedman
PS We have now opened a waiting list to be the first to know when we reopen for the first program. If you want to join this list simply reply with 'waiting list' and I'll add you to it
It's fair to say that every single one of us wants to improve ourselves right?
Whether it's in work, relationships and most commonly with our body shapes.
We want to get fitter, we want to get lighter, we want to tone up, we are all trying to make little (or big) improvements.
DO most people get to their goals?
In my 9 years in the industry I must unfortunately say NO
Why?
There's so much support out there online or in the gyms.
Whether you're going it alone or part of a program then you can guarantee that for weight loss there will be the two main focuses:
1. Exercise
2. Food (you'd hope anyway!)
There is a third!
In my opinion it can actually be more important than the other two.
Focus / Mindset
This side of things is not even looked into on many programs or if you try to do it alone.
Knowledge of exercises to do and what foods are healthy don't get you out of bed in the morning when it's dark and raining.
Knowledge doesn't make you resist the chocolate cake which has been bought by the other half for you.
Knowledge doesn't stop you eating the kids left overs because you don't want to waste it.
MINDSET DOES
The good news is that just like your muscles being trained you can do this to the brain too.
I'm proud to say at Fitter Body Ladies this is a cornerstone of our coaching.
This week we launched our brand new 8 Week Mindset & Motivation course.
We had a brilliant turn out for our first session on Monday.
I can't wait to see the results following this course.
Each week will be going over topics such as:
- Self audit and goal setting
- Meditation and breathing
- Most important behaviours for fat loss
- How to become more resilient
- Overcoming setbacks
And much more!
So have a think about what you're trying to achieve and whether you program ticks the 'mindset' box.
If it doesn't and you'd like to take advantage of our new 8 week mindset course then it is included in our membership. I've got one space left for this month if not you will have to wait until March.
Reply back with 'February' to book the last remaining place.
Have a great day,
Jamie
Part of my job to do with writing these emails involves doing a bit of research and a lot of reading.
I cam across some interesting statistics last week which found:
That over 80% of dieters couldn’t maintain the weight they’d lost for a year. This was from a study from the American Society for Clinical Nutrition.
A staggering 4 in 5 dieters will regain every single pound they'd lost within a year (and put more on for many).
I think you'll all agree that being on a diet is hard work right?
But you do it because you think it'll be worth it.
But this proves that it almost isn't worth it, not long term anyway!
(I sound very negative, I'm not in a mood honest!! It's going somewhere good)
So why do so many people fail?
Will power?
A lot of the time this can be a big factor, but not with so many.
You see if a diet truly tests your will power, saps your motivation and makes you give up then rather than it being your will powers fault it could well be the fault of the diet.
The diet is often the reason so many people fail.
- It could be too restrictive that you can't maintain
- It can cut out complete food groups which leave you feeling rubbish and ending up having a binge
Your body doesn't like to be under this sort of stress.
So many diets bring your calories down to dangerously low levels.
I know so many ladies who are eating less than 1000 calories a day, and many aren't even losing weight so they try and cut down again (dangerous!!!)
This drops your metabolism down to such low levels that it makes weight loss very very slow.
All diets work to some degree but majority have an end point.
A point where you stop and do something else (or worse revert back to bad habits)
So what do I do?
There is a better way.
What I try to do with our ladies is give them a structured meal plan/way of eating which they can stick to long term.
A way of eating where you shouldn't get many major cravings!
Why?
Because it contains some of the foods we crave.
Take this week for example and our February Fat Loss Plan.
It contains:
Shepherds Pie
Turkey Burgers
Chicken Parmesan and Sautéed Potatoes
Family friendly, fun meals.
By adopting the 70 (good food) - 30 (not so good food/treats) approach you can still keep progressing, keep seeing results and having just enough of the things you really want to prevent cravings while not massively slowing down your results.
You can literally have your cake and eat it!
How does that sound?
Better than a low calorie, low carb, short term aggressive diet I hope?
Just so you know I've got 2 more spaces left to start in February.
I'm closing registration then until March.
If you'd like to get started then just comment below with 'February'
Have a great day,
Jamie Stedman
